Tootsie Roll, Abbey & Cooper

Tootsie Roll is a ridiculously adorable four-year-old girl who is the first pug I’ve ever met who loves the water! One of her favorite pastimes is playing in the creek with her pals Abbey and Cooper, a ten-year-old rat terrier and five-year-old golden retriever mix. I had a great time joining these three for a walk at their favorite park. Tootsie is affectionate and playful and trots perfectly next to her mom while they walk. Abbey and Cooper are the adventurers, playing ball and taking off to see what good smells they can find in the brush. Cooper especially loves the water, and lies down in it to cool himself from this thick, beautiful coat.

Aren’t they a great trio?

Beth - What a cute bunch!

We’re back!

It has been a crazy month – three trips we’d been planning all ended up being one after the other, so at the beginning of May I drove Becks and Ellie (Sienna is a very anxious traveler, so she stayed with my sister-in-law) to see their auntie in Philadelphia, and we took the opportunity to stop by Boston as well. There are few things I love more than getting to travel with my dogs, and after hearing how dog-friendly Boston was, I knew I had to take them. It was a million times better than I even anticipated! Not only were they allowed in tons of shops, they got to ride the subway!! Everyone there is super-friendly and enamored of dogs, so we got stopped at literally every block by people who wanted to visit with Becks and Ellie. (They probably thought it was a huge eight-hour therapy visit!) B+E took to the all walking and socializing so well, I think they were born to be city dogs! (Atlanta doesn’t count since hardly anything is walkable. *sniff*)

Words cannot express how amazing this trip was, but these snapshots might! After that we had a long weekend with all three pups to a lakehouse with friends, and finally Corey got my undivided attention for once (my wonderful, long-suffering husband!) on a cruise to the eastern Caribbean. Whew!

Thank you to everyone who waited patiently for proofs, orders, and responses from me while I was traveling. Things are back to normal now and I look forward to posting plenty of new photos from my upcoming shoots.

In the meantime, here are some photos of the kiddos. I needed to test some equipment that was serviced while I was out, but these guys were so tuckered out from their travels they couldn’t even be bothered to lift their heads for me!

Liz - So glad that you such a friendly and fun time in Boston! I love to see dogs on the T – they do always attract a lot of positive attention and unfortunately further feed my hankering for a dog ๐Ÿ™‚

Sully & Veda

Sully is a nine-year-old Newfoundland mix who was rescued as a stray in Chicago and recently moved to Georgia with his mom. He looks like either a small Newfie or a furry English lab – either way, he’s a handsome guy with one of the most laid-back temperaments I’ve come across yet. He and his little sister Veda, who’s about two and all puppy, were such good sports for this session. They had to spend a few hours in the car to get to Atlanta, but they were still wonderfully attentive and eager to please, even in an unfamiliar place with all the new smells everywhere.

Veda is a Doberman mix who loves fetching, playing, running – anything that involves movement! She and Sully are both very attached to their mom and always wanted to be by her side. I loved Veda’s long tongue and expressive face, and Sully’s soulful eyes and regal, “gentle giant” presence.

Thanks, Sarah, for a terrific session!

admin - Heather – thanks so much for your kind words! I’m always thrilled to hear from people who personally know the models. ๐Ÿ™‚

Liz – many of my clients are camera shy but Sully and Veda’s mom was so photogenic I had to share those!

Melissa – I love Monty, Emmett, Stuart and Scott! I am so touched to know that my photos could lift your day, even just a little. Thanks for following the blog. ๐Ÿ™‚

Heather Morse - Hi Leesia – I am Sarah’s sister, and I just had to say thank you! You’ve truly captured the essence of these two wonderful pups, as well as the joy they bring Sarah. I told her she must share the full contact sheets (or whatever you usually provide for review). I’m sure I’ll be ordering some prints for myself. ๐Ÿ™‚

Melissa Wingate Oswalt - You don’t know me – my brother is one of the owners of Barking Hound Village Westside – but after you took the pics of his dogs a few years ago, I stalk your blog all the time hoping you’ll post new photos. These are great – I love big dogs – but I really just wanted you to know how much I enjoy your work. Your photos often make me smile just when I needed a little lift during a hard day at work. Wish I lived closer to Atlanta so you could take pics of my Lucy!
