Campbell

Campbell is an 8-month-old cocker spaniel mix puppy who was adopted from the East Coast Humane Society. I was surprised to find out when I met him that he looked a lot like our blond babies, which of course was just an extra plus because I always have a soft spot for any face that even remotely resembles Becks’ or Ellie’s.

He’s his mom’s first dog ever, and boy is she doing a fantastic job with him!! I wish I had been this wise when I rescued my first – he’s completed training classes and has been well-socialized so that he does well with dogs, cats, and strangers. Even though he’s bursting with puppy energy, he still obeys all his commands and is an all-around wonderfully behaved dog with a great temperament.

Campbell has toy ADD – he wants whatever toy you pick up, and if you show him too many at once he’ll run around in circles alternately picking each one up and dropping it for the next one. Isn’t he a cutie?

Henry & Lucy

Henry is a one-year-old Labradoodle, and although the session was for him, I had to squeeze in a few of his older sister Lucy, a 14-year-old miniature dachshund, because she was so adorable! Ironically, as Henry was the intended model, he was much less interested in the camera while Lucy followed me around everywhere and just looked up at me, wagging in earnest.

It was really sweet to see how patient Lucy has been with Henry’s boundless energy, and how gentle he is with her. Even with their size and age difference, they never got into any scuffles and just peacefully co-exist together. What a pair!

Bailey, Milo (& Scout!)

Bailey, Milo and Scout are the fur babies of a wonderful Atlanta Pet Rescue volunteer, and Milo and Scout are APR alumni. Sweet Bailey, the oldest, was found in a box outside of a restaurant when she was only three weeks old and has been with Sheri ever since.

Bailey is the oldest sister at 15 years old, and Milo and Scout are her playful younger brothers at 6 and 2 years old. Each one has so many adorable quirks that it only took a few seconds to fall in love with them! Bailey stays statue-still for ridiculous amounts of time and the one thing that really excites her is – believe it or not – her hairball medicine! She will actually paw at the kitchen counter where the medicine is kept to beg for it.

Milo is the goofy one who loves sunbathing on the patio, catnip, and making up hilarious kitty-yoga positions (you’ll see what I mean in just a second!), and sweet Scout was a feral cat who needed to be socialized as a foster, but then Sheri couldn’t give him up and he’s still not himself with anyone but his mom.

I only got to meet Scout for a few minutes since we didn’t want to traumatize him beyond recovery, and after literally a couple of shots we let him return to his safe place under the bed. But he has the most beautiful green and yellow eyes, and was amazingly sweet considering what we were making him do! They were all terrific models – thank you, Sheri, for a great session!

Bailey is on the left, Milo on the right:

and a glimpse of Scout:

Milo’s favorite places are the windowsills of his two big picture windows – in the office he crams himself between the window and back of the chair – see what I mean about the crazy poses? This cracked me up.

Jen Varkoly - The last two pics are my absolute favorite. I can’t believe Bailey is 15, she looks like a teenager. She hasn’t lost an ounce of muscle tone in her old age. You can tell from Scout’s eyes that he is a slight bit nervous. He will always be your special needs child.

Paula Budd - The pictures of Bailey, Milo and Scout are wonderful. I am Sheri’s mom so I personally know all of the cats. I think that you have captured their personalities in these pictures. I can’t wait to see the rest of the pictures. I especially love Bailey trying to get her treats.
