Whew! I took a week off to visit Seattle with Corey, and did not anticipate how much work would pile up in such a short time. Not that I’m complaining – I feel very lucky to have so many wonderful clients whose gorgeous dogs I get to meet. But be prepared for a flurry of blog posts in the next couple weeks as I play catch-up!
Chewie and Meisje (pronounced “may-jay”) are 10- and 12-year-old Keeshonden who I was very excited to meet since I have never photographed a Keeshond before. They were just as beautiful in person as in the photographs I’ve seen of the breed. And as icing on the cake, they’re both rescues as well! Chewie was the first addition and the more affectionate of the two; he is never far from his mom or dad and always up for kisses. Meisje is more independent and interested in you when you have something to offer (and will actually hit you for attention!), but definitely turns into a diva when she wants her own space.
Although you’d never know it when you meet him, Chewie has actually been diagnosed with cancer and is undergoing chemo now. It has done nothing to break his spirit and he is still as sweet, loving and upbeat as ever. Please send lots of positive energy to him and his family for many, many more good days to come:
And here’s Meisje:
Rachel - both of them look so cute and cuddly. And so fluffy! Sending lots of good vibes to Chewie!
jenn - awwww, they are so adorable!!
