Rocco

Sweet Rocco is twelve and the gentlest of giants. He was rescued as a fluffy pup and still resembles a big teddy bear – and is just as cuddly, too! He is so laid-back and affectionate that everyone who meets him falls instantly in love.

Unfortunately, the catalyst for our shoot was a bone cancer diagnosis, but I’m happy to report that after our shoot, he made it through surgery to remove the cancer with flying colors. Please send lots of good thoughts to Rocco and his gorgeous mama for a speedy recovery! They have such an amazing bond and I am so honored I was able to photograph them together. Here’s to many more good years –

Blue & Spot

Blue and Spot are a pair of senior pups who are as sweet and loyal as can be! They follow their people everywhere, especially the daughter of the family. Blue, the chocolate lab, is always content to be near, but Spot (the white boy with…you guessed it, spots!) likes to be ON his person. 🙂

Blue originally joined her family as a puppy when she was released from her service dog training, while Spot wandered up as a scraggly, skinny stray and hit the jackpot. Don’t you love these faces?

Harper

When Harper’s mom described her as a beagle/rottie mix, I couldn’t wait to meet her – I love photographing mixed breed dogs because they’re so unique. This adorable girl is the size of a beagle (and has the nose of one too!), but has the markings of a rottweiler. She’s five years old and was lucky enough to be born into a foster home, so she’s only known a life of love and comfort – the way it should be!

Harper is always on the go, whether that means sniffing every inch of the lawn, swimming across a lake, or chasing her toys across the yard. She loves everyone she meets, two-legged or four-legged. She is playful, affectionate, and goofy (look for the smirk on her face in one of my favorite photos below!) – when you see her you can’t help but smile. If we humans could learn to approach life with such enthusiasm and optimism, the world would surely be a better place!

This cracks me up – my dog Sienna does this too – when you scratch her in just the right spot, they make the funniest face!
