Viola & Olivia

Olivia and Viola are two adorable sisters named for the countess and orphan in Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night. Olivia is the outgoing sister who demands all the attention of her admirers, and Viola is the quieter girl who prefers to sit back a little and take everything into consideration before deciding her next move.

Both are gorgeous, with bright green eyes and sleek gray-striped coats. Olivia loves anything on a string, while Viola prefers her laser pointer and sparkly balls, but only when there isn’t a stranger staring at her with a big camera aimed at her. :p Both were so much fun to meet and photograph! Olivia is the first one pictured, with the rounder face, and Viola has the more brilliant green eyes.

Hershey & Mac

I’ve had the pleasure of photographing both these handsome boys when they were puppies, and it was so fun to see them all grown up. Hershey is a Yorkie mix, and to call him photogenic would be an understatement. He has so many adorable expressions and so much patience for set and outfit changes (ha!) that I know he must have been a professional model in a past life.

His little brother Macintosh (Mac for short) is a terrier mix who is just as adorable, but he only works if he’s getting paid so we made sure to keep lots of treats on hand!

As icing on the cake, I got to photograph these boys in a different setting, in a home with so many options I didn’t know what to do with myself! They had a whole holiday wardrobe set out for their holiday card this year, and there was a gorgeous library that made me want to break out into song with something from Disney’s “Beauty and the Beast” – and a backyard so green, even this time of year, that I could have photographed them all day…

Cleocatra & Coconut

Cleocatra (how awesome is that name!) and Coconut are two six-month-old kittens who were adopted from the Atlanta Humane Society this year. Cleocatra, the tabby girl, charmed her dad by putting her paw out through the cage and gently nudging his hand and making sure she was the first cat he saw. Coconut, aptly named for his all-white coat, charmed with his playful but gentle personality (not to mention those golden eyes!). Lucky for these two, their new family knew about the benefits of adopting kittens in pairs, so although they weren’t together at the shelter, they came home together.

For whatever reason, I don’t get nearly as many requests for cat sessions as I do dog sessions, but I wish I did! I can’t tell you how much fun this session was. Cleo and Coco greeted me at the door like dogs, investigated my equipment, and then proceeded to show me around their lovely Buckhead apartment like they had just been waiting to start their modeling careers. These two are so sweet and fun, and I can’t figure out who’s luckier – their family for landing such an awesome pair of kittens, or the kittens for landing such a doting family and amazing home! I just hope my own foster kittens end up in homes as wonderful as this one…
