Baloo

Baloo, aptly named after The Jungle Book character, is an 11-week-old English black lab puppy who’s so cute that during his session, literally every person that walked by was compelled to stop and ask about him. Can you blame them!? He is all paws and ears right now, with a squishy round belly that makes him look like he’s waddling more than walking. He’s already a love, perking up every time he hears a new voice.

He’s a brave little explorer and incredibly smart too. He already sits patiently for treats and makes a beeline for his potty spot when it’s time to get down to business. He’s growing like crazy and it was so fun to meet him in this fleeting puppy stage.

Of course we can’t overlook the queen of the house, a lovely rescued kitty named Cersei:

Mora

I can’t believe it’s already been a year since I last saw Mora! I photographed her last April when she just 11 weeks old for her first Puppy Package session – now she’s over a year old and quite the gentle giant. She is a social butterfly and was eager to greet every passer-by; babies, dogs, cats – she loves them all. She’s obsessed with fetching sticks (or a branch, in her case!), and when those aren’t available she’ll settle for a ball.

Even though she’s all grown up, she hasn’t lost those sweet, soulful eyes she had as a puppy, or her infectious zest for life. One glance and she’ll have you rubbing her belly or scratching her ears. And there’s nothing you can do but laugh when you see her impression of a bucking bronco to express her excitement that it’s playtime. I adore her.

This little guy stopped by on his way to the car and Mora begged him to play.

Mora wants so badly to be best friends with her big sister Mookie!

One of Mookie’s favorite pastimes: licking the bannister.

Emma

Emma is an adorable 11-year-old Maltese/Yorkie mix. At first glance she looks all Maltese, but you can see a tiny bit of that Yorkie in her ears when they’re in their alert position. Even though she’s nearly deaf, our biggest challenge wasn’t getting her to look at us, but trying to get some images where she wasn’t in someone’s lap! Whenever her mom or dad would sit down, she would immediately drop whatever she was doing and hop into their lap or snuggle against them – what an amazing bond they have.

She loves to play ball, so one of her favorite games is having her mom and dad sit at opposite ends of the hallway, and they roll a ball back and forth for her. Even at 11, she runs as fast as any puppy – I couldn’t believe how spry she was. She loves carrots, sleeping on the back of the couch, and carrying her favorite toys around in her mouth. Isn’t she a sweetheart?
