Brewster & Violet

Brewster is a ridiculously adorable Bearded Collie who was rescued from a shelter in Alabama ten years ago. When I arrived for the session, I knocked on the door and saw his face pop up on the other side of the glass door, tailing wagging like crazy, and knew this was going to be a fantastic session!

Brewster is eleven now, but has been easygoing and gentle since the day he arrived. He’s never met a stranger, and even welcomed the addition of his cat sister Violet earlier this year without batting an eye. He loves to nap by the front door, keeping tabs on the goings-on in and around the house. His favorite part of the day is when his dad asks him if he’s ready for a walk, and they go their neighborhood’s private park (I’m so jealous!) for a stroll and sometimes a dip in the creek.

This handsome boy missed his calling in life as a professional model. Few dogs take to the camera as quickly as he did – he made all sorts of ridiculous expressions without any prompting, and when we were working outdoors he trotted across the field toward the camera like a model on a runway. I love him!

Did someone say “treat”?

I love the single stripe he has on his tail…

Of course we had to get a few of sweet senior kitty Violet. Brewster was a little miffed about losing the spotlight so in a lot of these photos, even though you can’t see him, he’s actually squished himself directly between the camera and Violet!

Jasper & Lucy

I will be out of the office beginning Friday September 19th, and won’t be back until Monday October 6th. But before I go, I have two more pups I have to share! Jasper and Lucy are complete opposites in looks and temperament, but they are still best buds. They love to play and romp around in their beautiful backyard together, and when they’re inside Lucy likes to groom Jasper and they stand guard for visitors.

Jasper is a six-year-old shih tzu who is very easygoing and just likes to stand back and take it all in. He loves belly rubs and will clap his hands together in the air when he wants more. Lucy is a one-year-old chocolate lab mix rescued through Mutt Madd-ness and is amazingly calm and attentive for being only a year old! She loves to play, but is also gentle and loving. They are really quite the pair!

Lenny & Teddy

Lenny and Teddy are a handsome pair of Newfoundland brothers who turn heads wherever they go. They are each around 200 pounds, but as you would expect, they are gentle giants – mellow, loving, and incredibly laid-back. Teddy is two years younger than Lenny and has some rare white markings on his chest and feet, while Lenny has some very subtle chocolate feathering around his feet.

They have wonderful bond with each other, and also with their dad. They are his shadow and always have to be wherever he is, whether they’re sleeping on his feet or asking for belly rubs. I could have photographed these boys all day – they loved the camera and the camera loved them!
