Bullet

Bullet is a two-and-a-half-year-old Springer Spaniel who was just adopted by his mom from someone who didn’t want him when he got a bad case of heartworms. It was a perfect match for both of them – now Bullet has a real home with someone who truly cares about him, and his mom has one of the most wonderful dogs I have EVER met!

When I first arrived for the session, I thought I was knocking on the wrong door because I didn’t hear any barking on the other side…but when the door opened I was greeted with a very wriggly Bullet who was holding one of his favorite new toys in his mouth and could hardly contain himself. He is super friendly but doesn’t knock the wind out of you, and is constantly rolling over for tummy rubs (the quickest way to my heart). And for anyone who’s met a Springer Spaniel before – you know how silky smooth they are. It was a wonder I was able to get any work done and didn’t just pet him the whole time. :p

I seriously wanted to sneak him away with me after the session and take him home!!

I especially loved his black-and-white feathers and those freckled pads:

Alyssa - Your photographs are absolutely amazing! I could look at them all day. I love the way you capture these beautiful animals!

Joni Solis - He is simply gorgeous! His first owner was a total fool and I am so happy for him now with a great new owner and life. There are so many wonderful dogs that can be found in shelters and rescues that unless you are going to want to show a dog why buy?

Liz - I LOVE this story!! We used to have a spaniel with these markings and colors – beautiful photos!

Squiggy, Leo & Haley

I cannot even begin to tell you how much fun this session was – I hope it shows in the photos! Squiggy is a seven-year-old Chihuahua mix, and Leo is a six-year-old long-haired Chihuahua. They are both kept in line by Haley, a gorgeous ten-year-old cat who was completely unfazed by all the activity going on. Squiggy is the spunky active one who loves to fetch, jumps for treats, and is always trying to instigate playtime with Leo. Leo is more regal and reserved, happy to watch for chipmunks and just contemplate life. He also has one of the most charming smiles I have ever seen!

Tater Tot & French Fry

Tater Tot and French Fry are an adorable pair of Wheaten Terriers who are living the life. They spend their spare time traveling the country attending fashion shows to raise money for charity, and each have a custom-made wardrobe that would rival many humans’. :p Tater Tot was our main subject for the session since she won this year’s Red Bandanna calendar contest, but we did sneak in a few of French Fry since he was SO good about letting his sister have all the attention!

Tater Tot is two years old and she and her brother are both very sweet and friendly. I was greeted at the door with lots of kisses and neither were fazed by the camera since they are obviously modeling pros! To win the contest, Tater Tot and her mom raised over $1,500 for Friends of Dekalb Animals – she will be featured on the cover of Red Bandanna 2013 calendar, and calendar proceeds will also go to benefit Friends of Dekalb. Thank you to everyone who participated, and thank you to Tater Tot, French Fry, and Sandy for a very fun session!
