Elle

Elle is a dog after my own heart. Within a few minutes of meeting her, she rolled over on her back for a belly rub – the behavior that all three of my own dogs exhibited when we met them that clinched our choice to adopt them. Elle hit the jackpot when she was rescued by her mom, but her mom also seriously lucked out – this was her very first dog ever, and Elle is as perfect as they come. She is calm, gentle, affectionate, and just plain adorable. She never gets into trouble and hardly barks. (A trait I wish mine would learn, ha!)

She’s a five-to-six-year-old Jack Russell/Beagle mix who occasionally gets to go to work with her mom, where she charms everyone and pretty much makes their day. When she’s at home, she’s perched in the window looking for squirrels, or napping under the bed or burrowed in a pile of blankets.

I seriously wanted to dog-nap her!!

Mary Helen Hayes - These are awesome. Great photography (doesn’t hurt that the model is so dang cute).

Fletcher

Fletcher is a handsome four-year-old Vizsla whose zest for life is infectious. He loves to play in the park every day, grazing on all the smells and playing fetch. He’s never far from his mom and dad, and when he’s at home it’s though he has an “off” switch – he goes from jumping in the air at the park to lazing in the sun spots and snuggling with his people in front of the television or at his mom’s feet while she works. He always has to be touching someone, whether that means pushing his back end into you or full-on spooning.

Unfortunately, Fletcher was diagnosed with kidney lymphoma just before our session. He had had his first round of chemo a few days before I met him, but just like the star he is, he’s bouncing back very well and is still the playful, sweet charmer that everyone knows him to be. Please send lots of healing thoughts to Fletch and his family while he goes through his treatment.

It was such an honor to photograph this gorgeous boy. Thank you, Heather and Rex, for a wonderful session.

Oreo

Oreo is a five-year-old pit bull who is quite the athlete. She especially loves to swim, and will play fetch in the water or on land for hours on end. Her focus is incredible – nothing can distract her when her toy is out, but when it’s not time to play she goes back to thinking she’s a 45-pound lap dog and sleeps so heavily that sometimes she has to be woken up in the morning!

Oreo’s one of the fastest dogs I’ve ever photographed, and has a vertical leap of over five feet. Needless to say, this was a very active session and we had a great time playing in the park, enjoying this gorgeous fall weather.
