Milo

Get ready for a serious cuteness overload: Milo is an eight-year-old (I don’t believe it either!) Havanese who is so charming he has every human in his life wrapped around his little paw – including the ones who weren’t dog people to start with!

His mom keeps him in a puppy cut, which means he can always use his adorable brown eyes to full effect – I spent half of our session with him in my lap, petting him instead of working, because he just kept giving me that face. I don’t know how his mom does anything with him around all day.

He LOVES toys, LOVES people, LOVES treats…well, I suppose there’s not much he doesn’t love. Yet another lesson dogs are always trying to teach us!

Henry

Henry is quite the pro at this modeling thing. For our annual session, he posed like star for the family pictures, so we rewarded him with a new squeaky football – I have never heard so many squeaks in succession as I did this afternoon!

Since we had our classic running shots from previous sessions, we goofed around for some fun ones and in a few of the shots, Henry even ran right at the lens and touched it with his nose before dropping his football at my feet for another throw!

Joni Solis - Great shots – lucky family to get getting these. Wonderful GSD!

Asta & Herman

Asta’s shelter paperwork called her a “Terrier X,” so when I first learned that I knew I’d be in for a treat. One of the many things I love about shelter dogs are all the unique and adorable mixes – and Asta has the turned-out paws for which everyone knows I’m a sucker! Asta is 14 years old now, rescued from a Virginia shelter many years ago, and although she’s nearly deaf she always knows exactly where the food is.

She just got a new brother a couple months ago, a young chihuahua mix named Herman. They are perfect together because Asta can be picky about which dogs she’ll grace with her presence, and these two are getting along wonderfully! Herman is very calm for a chi, and loves to snuggle, while Asta patrols for food and any passers-by happening by her window.

This session was for Asta since she’s getting into her senior years, but Herman was so interested in what we were doing and kept striking poses left and right – so we couldn’t resist sneaking in some of him as well!
