Lottie

Meet Lottie! She is a sweet little beagle mix who was adopted by her foster mom’s mom – I love it when fosters get to stay in the family. ♥  She is really blossoming in her new home – she was extremely timid and uncertain when she first arrived, but now she is gaining confidence and loves to play with her toys and follow her mom everywhere around the house.

Lottie snuggles in her lap each morning while her mom has her morning coffee and loves to go for car rides. They are a match made in heaven! Such a happy ending – another testament to the value of fostering and the joy it can bring.

I think Lottie knows something we don’t know…

Of course we had to sneak in a few with her Christmas bow!

Sully & Emma

I first photographed Emma five years ago – I can’t believe it has been that long. She’s eleven now and a big sister to Sully, a one-year-old pit mix who just hit the jackpot with his new forever home. He was sprung from Dekalb County Animal Services after showing off his amazing temperament and mad skills with kids. He’s very patient and gentle, and keeps Emma young by engaging her in play but also knowing when she needs a break.

Emma has always been insanely photogenic and she did not disappoint this time around! Since we’d photographed her before, Sully was supposed to be the main subject, but she kept stealing the spotlight as if to say, “This is how it’s done, little brother!” But Sully is a handsome boy in his own right and a complete master of the close-up shot – he’s so affectionate that as soon as he realized he had your attention, he’d get as close to you as possible, even scooting or army crawling if he was already in a sit or down position. I love these two!

Dolce, Louie, and Sig

These three make quite a pack! Dolce Gabbana is the queen, a nine-year-old Chihuahua, and Louie Vuitton is an eight-year-old Miniature Pinscher. Their “little” brother is Sig Sauer, a stunning four-year-old sable German Shepherd. Dolce and Louie are an adorable pair – they play, sit in the front window, and burrow in blankets and nap together. Sig is still trying to make sense of his size in relation to them, as he wants to play so badly but can’t quite figure out the logistics…

The boys are the more actives ones – Sig loves to jog, play tug, fetch, you name it. Louie is above structured play, so he gets his exercise by bounding around the backyard like a rabbit. :p Since Dolce is a lady, the only times she deigns to step on the grass is to check the fence perimeter to make sure her kingdom is secure!

Thank you to Lisa and Nestor for a wonderful session! Everyone was so much fun to work with.
