Sunshine

What better way to celebrate a 10-year Adopt-a-versary than with a photo session? Sunshine’s wonderful family rescued her when no one else would because of some behavioral issues, and they gave her the patience and love she needed. Now she is the most perfect family dog you could ever hope for. She’s an eternal couch potato who is very patient with her human siblings, whom she preceded, and loves to snuggle up with them on the couch for a good movie.

Would you believe that she used to be red with pricked ears? Instead of turning grey, she’s turned blond and white and her ears sometimes flop instead of standing straight now. If only humans could age this beautifully!

Tucker & Soxy

Tucker is a two-year-old Yorkie with oversized ears and a penchant for squeaky toys, while Soxy is a five-year-old Chihuahua mix who I was warned wasn’t photogenic…but that couldn’t have been further from the truth! She reminded me so much of our late Sienna, with her bouncy ears and diva personality. (She won’t sit on a flat carpeted floor unless it has a rug or pillow for her tush!)

I had so much fun with these two – both have the cutest head tilt and incredibly expressive eyes AND ears. Aren’t they the cutest?

Maggie & Zara

Maggie just turned seven years old this week, and we celebrated with a photo shoot! (Her sister Zara, a Maine Coon, deigned to participate as well.) She’s a beautiful Golden Retriever with the fluffiest coat I’ve ever felt, and she’s got that wonderful personality her breed is known for – friendly and happy-go-lucky. Her mom said she’s heard Goldens called the dolphins of the dog world, which I hadn’t heard before and love it. It’s a perfect description.

Maggie loves to play fetch in the backyard, but she loves her family and napping equally as much! She isn’t as interested in Zara, who is an inquisitive, petite girl who followed us around curiously while we dangled treats for Maggie and cooed her name. She thought we were crazy until her toy came out, and then she was more than happy to show off too!
