Birdie

Birdie was 11 weeks old the day of our session, and the photos perfectly reflect that. She was either in motion or completely zonked out – nothing in between! But even at this young age, you can tell what a sweet and wonderful family dog she’s going to be. She follows her human sisters everywhere and wants to be included in everything they’re doing.

She read the Golden manual before coming home, as she already fetches like a pro and loves to carry toys, sticks…your shoe. 😉 While editing her photos I find myself smiling at the monitor without realizing it because I can still feel that puppy smooshiness when I held her and smell that unmistakable scent that every puppy seems to have, no matter the breed.

Isn’t she ridiculous?

Ethel, Figgy &, Chica

I had the honor of photographing Ethel eight years ago, when her brothers were a beagle mix and two cats. Now she’s still the boss, but now she has a new brother and a sister! Figgy is an adorable senior dachshund mix who has the most snuggly and relaxed personality I’ve seen in a dog. He’s just happy to trot around and plop down near you or be held like a baby…whatever you want! He even plays in slow motion, which is adorable.

Chica is the wild child of the group and one of the most unique mixes you will ever see. (Just another reason I love mutts!) She’s got this amazing beard and huge mesmerizing eyes. She loves to play and has legs for days.

They even lined up in birth order for their group photo! :p

Fabio

Fabio got his name at the shelter for being blond and beautiful, even though his coat was scraggly and sparse from neglect, because everyone knew once he received some TLC, he’d be stunning. And they weren’t wrong – not only is his coat full and soft now, as soon as he saw the camera, he started trotting around like he was on the runway, just like his namesake!

He is pretty much the perfect dog. He’s a Wheaten mix who has the most loving, laid-back personality you could ever hope for in a family dog, which was perfect since he had two little girls to raise.

Here’s the kicker: he was adopted 15 years ago – Fabio is 16 now, and those little girls are in college now! Can you believe it!?
