Biggie

No images or descriptions could do Biggie justice…but I’ll try anyway. He is a four-year-old chihuahua mix from Atlanta Pet Rescue & Adoption and just plain ridiculous!! I wanted to scoop him up and take him home with me. Literally the only difficult part of the session was keeping him out of my lap – every time you bend to his level he immediately crawls onto you and coaxes you into petting him.

And he is so, so soft. He’s not by any means pudgy, but he seems to have some sort of padding beneath his fur even though he has short hair…petting him is so therapeutic I don’t know how his mom gets anything done in his company!

How could anyone not fall in love with this little guy?

Sophie & Oscar

Sophie and Oscar are the recent additions to Oreo and Loki‘s pack, whose sweet brother Simon passed away this year. They have filled the house again with the happy pitter-patter of little paws and jingling dog collars. Both rescues about a year old, they love playing with each other and with Loki, a ragdoll cat who’s so big now from the last time I saw him as a kitten! I had so much fun meeting these sweet babies. Sophie is a wonderful puppy, calm and affectionate and always ready to snuggle. Oscar has two speeds: zero and 60! He’s either bouncing around initiating play or chewing enthusiastically on his bone, or completely flopped out and ready for a nap.

What a fall season this is turning out to be – every pup I’ve met I wanted to sneak home for myself! Aren’t these guys the cutest? (Sophie is on the left, Oreo the big sister in the middle, and leggy Oscar on the right.)

Dallas

Dallas is a handsome four-year-old standard poodle who was surrendered to Atlanta Pet Rescue & Adoption when his owner didn’t want to pay to treat his broken leg. He was just a puppy when he arrived there, and his mom took him in as a temporary foster. Well…once you see his photos you’ll understand how he went from being a temporary addition to a permanent one in no time at all! Dallas is the poster boy for how ridiculously perfect shelter dogs can be – he’s great with people and other dogs and is incredibly well-mannered in the house.

He was also a complete ham for the camera with big brown eyes that just draw you in. There were so many sides to his personality – one minute he was bounding across a field chasing his ball, then flopped out on the bed and asking for a tummy rub. And apparently he’s also been working on his modeling skills – at one point during the session we plopped him in a chair and he struck three different poses all on his own, and held each of them for an incredible amount of time. What a ham!!

Laine Sweezey - Looking at your photos never ceases to amaze me. You are both talented and gifted. This dog is surely the reincarnation of a model! The shot of him going up in the air after a ball is remarkable! HAH, I wish the fool who gave that dog up could see these photos!!

Kelly Rousey - Leesia,

Thank you so much for capturing Dal’s true spirit. I particularly love the one of him in full repose on the bed.
