Max, Joey, Sam, Jeepers & Kacey

These five gorgeous cats were a pleasure to meet and photograph. (They’re all rescues, so their mom and I had lots to talk about!) Max, Joey and Sam are the boys, and they were the focus of the session. Jeepers (named because she was found under the hood of a Jeep) is really shy around new people and isn’t too fond of the boys, and Kacey is the oldest at 17 and needs her quiet time so we only had a little time with each of them.

Max and Sam, both about 5 years old and part maine coone, are very outgoing – within a few minutes of meeting me they were crawling into my camera bag and rubbing against my legs. Joey, a handsome 3-year-old boy, was a little more suspicious of our intentions but we were able to sneak in a few of him as well!

From left to right below are Max, Joey and Sam:

And the girls — Jeepers and Kacey:

Max is absolutely hilarious and a little on the lazy side – can you tell? :p One the boys’ favorite toys are milk jug rings:

I love his little nose and gorgeous markings.

Sam hammed it up with his catnip mice:

Tim The Atlanta Picture Framer - Joey reminds me of my old black short-hair, Jack. Even down to the lone white hairs interspersed at random throughout his fur. He had them since he was a kitten…Jack’s been gone for a couple of years, but these pictures brought back a bunch of memories. Thanks!

Jessie & Lucy

Jessie and Lucy are sweet Atlanta Humane Society alumni who are now living the life in Morningside – they have a sunroom with a picture window on a hill overlooking the neighborhood so they can watch all the hustle and bustle, and a beautiful front and backyard where they can sunbathe and take in all the new smells. (And of course, doting parents who take them for walks and doggie daycare!)

Jessie is a 4-year-old hound mix and pretty suspicious of cameras, but I’m happy to say we still got some great images of him with minimal trauma. :p Lucy is the newest addition to the family, a 6- or 7-year-old lab/collie mix – don’t you love to hear stories about older shelter dogs getting happy endings too?!

There is a remote-controlled helicopter that makes Lucy go wild – she does the excited labrador jaw-clicking when it comes out, and they she dances and twirls for it. Once it lands, though, she won’t touch it – only play bows and bounces in circles around it. It’s definitely something that needs to be caught on video – so hilarious!

Shamrock ‘n Roll Road Race

The Junior League of Atlanta‘s 7th Annual 5k, 10k, and kilt run was this weekend and the day couldn’t have been any more perfect! It was sunny and almost even warm, and the best thing of all – it was a dog-friendly race! I was invited to document the event from the point of view of the dogs since the human runners had their own photographers. 🙂

If you’d like to see the photos from the event, they’re available for viewing if you follow the instructions below. Given the amazing turnout, I wasn’t able to meet everyone, so not all who attended may have been photographed. If you do find your pup in the mix and mark any images as favorites, the system will save them for you when you log back in.

Photos will be posted for three weeks, until April 5th.
