Kyra, Luke & Bren

I am so in love with this trio! They are all rescues (yay!): Kyra is a Lab/Beagle mix and is the eager-to-please angel, the apple of her mom’s eye. Even though she’s ten, you would never know it – she loves her tennis ball and can outrun everyone else any day of the week!

Luke is a Beagle/Dachshund mix, eager to please as long as treats are involved, and has what everyone jokingly calls a “touching disorder” – some part of his body has to be touching yours at all times. If he’s not giving kisses, he’s resting his nose on your arm, your shoulder, your leg…it’s pretty freakin’ adorable and made for some awesome sleeping shots since he loves snuggling with his sisters too!

Bren is the youngest sister, a three-year-old Pit mix who spent nine months of her life in a shelter. Her mom took her in as a foster, and after lots of love and affection, she has come out of her shell and is one of the sweetest, most darling girls you’ll ever meet. It was touching to see her so happy and secure in her home after such difficult beginnings.

I’m going to start the post with this spontaneous, completely unposed shot that I really, really love. This trio’s amazing mom does a lot of work in the rescue community, and in this image the love she has for her dogs and the countless dogs she’s helped is palpable – as is the love they have for her.

Thank you, Sara, for such a wonderful session!

Piper

Piper started out as a tiny foster puppy, but she charmed her mom pretty quickly and made it clear she was here to stay! She’s a year old now and just as delightful, always entertaining with her silly antics. She’s a mystery breed – she looks like a big dog in miniature form, only twenty pounds and ears so perky they are probably picking up radio signals that we don’t know about.

She could fetch and play for hours, indoors or out, but when she’s left to her own devices her favorite activity is sunbathing on the terrace, keeping watch on the streets below. We lucked out with some of the most gorgeous weather we’ve had in months, and we had a perfect session. Piper has such an infectious zest for life, it’s impossible to meet her and not come away with a smile!

Lucy & Blu

Lucy is a lovely 18-month-old Golden Retriever who just got a new baby brother. Blu is 10 weeks old and the opposite of Lucy – rambunctious and headstrong! But they balance each other perfectly – they spent nearly the entire session playing together, wrestling, tuggling, and chasing. Each time one of them leaves the room, even if only for a minute or two, when they’re reunited it’s as if they’ve been apart for days.

Lucy is so patient and sweet with Blu, sharing toys and showing him all the best places to nap around their beautiful home. Blu was one of the most energetic puppies I’ve met – getting sleepy photos was quite the challenge as he didn’t want to put his head down for fear he’d miss out on something! Lucy and Blu are a stunning pair, and I can’t wait to see Blu again when he’s all grown up.

Robin Brown Schrumpf - I am so happy they have each other. Dogs are pack animals and are happier when they have a playmate. They are so beautiful. We are so thankful they have you to love and care for them.
