Riley

This session was scheduled to commemorate Riley’s tenth birthday! She was rescued as a puppy from an Alabama shelter and has pretty much been living the life ever since. Every day is filled with her favorite things – walking at the creek, playing with her squeaky soccer ball, and making comfy nests out of all the blankets and pillows in her house.

Riley is part chihuahua, but it’s anyone’s guess what the other part is. She’s so unique and adorable that literally every person who saw us while we were outside shooting stopped to say something. I’m pretty sure she knows how cute she is because she can sometimes be shy with strangers, but as soon as I took out the camera she started modeling left and right – hopping up on to anything she could find and tilting her head this way and that way. My own chihuahua mix Sienna needs to take some lessons from Riley!

Russo’s slideshow

Since Russo Specklypants McChunkybutt has so many fans, I thought I’d share the full slideshow from his session. (Turn your sound on! The lovely song is “I Do Adore,” by Mindy Gledhill and licensed through Triple Scoop Music.)

Enjoy!

Russo Specklypants McChunkybutt

Brace yourself for the cuteness that’s about to break your computer screen…and don’t say I didn’t warn you!

Russo Specklypants McChunkybutt was dumped at Dekalb Animal Services last month with his siblings when they were only four weeks old. A great foster home stepped up immediately to take them in and keep them healthy, and Russo was permanently adopted by one of the two amazing women who run Friends of Dekalb Animals (FODA), which rescues and transports homeless animals to the northeast since the southern shelters are overflowing. (As of this posting, Russo and his siblings have all found forever homes!)

Russo is a mystery mix. When I saw his beautiful markings I immediately thought of a Catahoula, but a lot of Russo’s fans are guessing Great Dane, with his giant paws. Only time will tell! He is the ideal puppy – fat and round, with a temperament that’s perfectly balanced between calm and playful. He is yet another testament to all the unique and utterly amazing mixes to be found through rescue!
